Young Scientists’ Conference (YSC) is a part of the bigger canvass of India International Science Festival 2018, Lucknow. The main aim of this YSC is to provide an enabling ecosystem to young scientists/entrepreneurs/researchers (below the age of 40 years) where they can meet, discuss and present their research findings and innovative ideas on the identified research themes. It will give an opportunity to the budding scientists to share their ideas and come up with interdisciplinary research models/programs keeping in view of the national flagship programs like, Make in India, Digital India, Swachchh Bharat, Swasth Bharat, Biodiversity and Environment, and various frontier areas in Science (including all basic & applied sciences).

The conference activities will be spread over two days (05th – 06th October, 2018) and will include keynote, oral and poster presentation sessions on relevant themes as well as panel discussions on various aspects related to career progression of the young scientists.

Mode of Participation:

Participation can be through (a) nominations and (b) through direct registrations. Each individual participant needs to register through a common portal of IISF 2018. The process of registration for the Young Scientists Conference (YSC) can be accessed from ( Registration is free and local hospitality will be provided.

  • Who can nominate?
  • (i) Vice-Chancellors/Deans of Universities/ Academic Institutions
  • (ii) Directors of National R&D Laboratories
  • (iii) Principals of post-graduate colleges across the country
  • (iv) Heads of R&Ds (Industry)
  • (v) Heads of NGOs

(b) Participants can register online and can submit an abstract if interested. The abstracts would be selected for oral/poster presentation and acceptance for the same will be communicated on the registered email id of the participant. However, anyone can register and participate in the event irrespective of submitting an abstract.

Mere registration does not ensure participation. A CONFIRMATION mail from the organizers would be required for participation. However, participants are required to submit their travel itinerary within one week of the receipt of confirmation mail. Otherwise, the organizers won’t take responsibility of their participation and cannot arrange logistics.

Abstract Submission:

Interested delegates should submit their abstracts online latest by 15th August. Registration for YSC will close on 15th August, 2018. Each delegate will receive an automatic response mail upon submission. However, this response is not the acceptance of the abstract. Mode of presentation as oral/poster will be communicated through the confirmation mail. Abstracts are expected to be in line with the identified themes.

Travel Support:

There are a few travel supports for students, researchers and young faculty members who do not have any funding resources. You may send an email to the following address for travel support along with a recommendation letter from the head of your institution.


Eligibility: Open to: Young Scientists/Faculties/PhD students/Postdoctoral fellows from Universities, Govt. Organizations, National Laboratories, Industry etc., preferably below 40 years as on October 5, 2018

Steps for registration

  1. Register yourself at IISF Website
  2. After registration, go to your registered email id and you may find an email from our side and click on activation link (Check spam folder, if unable to find in inbox)
  3. Now, login to IISF website by using the same email id & password for submitting abstract by selecting “Young Scientist Conference”
